Southern Heat Exchange is an artist-led visibility project that has grown from the combined efforts of many since 2017. It has taken the form of discussion groups, exhibitions, and process exchanges over the years. S.H.E. currently hosts a digital artist residency run by April Bachtel and Catherine Nelson.

Believing in the power of witnessing each others’ work and generating opportunities to experiment and publish, S.H.E. has offered solo shows, curation opportunities, and residencies to over 30 artists thus far. The project continues to evolve to meet the expressive needs of our community.
